Jersey Cider Works- Our fresh-pressed apples are from New Jersey and other nearby states – not China, where many “ciders” get their concentrate. This not only gives Ironbound Hard Cider its bold, fresh taste, but it also supports our local network of family farms. Back in the day, New Jersey was famous for its cider. Even George Washington knew it as the “champagne of ciders.” New Jersey has a long history of cider making, especially in Newark where cider was the city’s first industry. Celebrated throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, Newark Cider was considered by many, including George Washington, to be among the finest ciders in early America – often referred to as the “champagne of ciders.” Cameron Stark, Jersey Cider Works master cidermaker, took on the challenge of creating a cider that filled the gap between small-production artisanal ciders and the mass-produced, overly sweet, juice-from-concentrate guys. Cameron did just that, Ironbound is made from 100% American apples from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New England. These apples are fresh-pressed and not from concentrate. The flavor is clean and refreshing, bright and balanced.

New Jersey, beyond the Jersey Shore, New Jersey is a diverse state. Although most people associate agriculture with our nation's heartland, New Jersey is home to more than 9,800 farms covering 790,000 acres of farmland. The state is among the leaders in many forms of agricultural production. For example, New Jersey ranks: 2nd in blueberry production, 3rd in cranberry production, 3rd in spinach, 4th in bell peppers, 4th in peach production and 4th in head lettuce. The state also produces an abundance of tomatoes, corn, apples, strawberries, potatoes, hay, soybeans and nursery stock. New Jersey is also home to nearly 60 registered apple orchards and boasts three new cider makers.

|Original: Simple and direct! This golden beverage will surprise the tongue. Similar to the cider imbibed by colonists, settlers of this country, and early presidents. A vigorous bubble, a pleasantly tart beginning, and notes of oak whiskey barrel are a trio of delights leaving the crisp taste of summer morning dew, or the refreshing taste of fall dancing in your throat.||Bavarian: The complex German yeast used in the production of Bavarian takes the edge off of a long day. The sweet notes of local honey burst through the back drop of tree ripened McIntosh and Winesap apples, with a slight sharpness of under ripe plums. Bavarian is perfect for a hot summer picnic or a fall evening by the fireplace. |
